We have had an eventful summer. We had a grand slam of a time performing the National Anthem at the T-Bones game earlier this month. We are grateful for everyone who performed and especially thankful for the work Lilly did to organize this event. We would also like to thank everyone who performed with us last Saturday at Butler Music in Harrisonville, MO. We had fun performing and exploring. Some of us even came home with new instruments (not horns). A special thank you to Montana for helping organize our performance at this events. Everyone please wish him well, as he is moving to Oregon soon.
Upcoming events:
We have some exciting news! We have been selected to perform the National Anthem at the KC Royals Game on Sunday, August 18. The game begins at 1:15pm. If you would like to perform with us please reply to this email by Jul 7 and let us know what part you would like to play (there are 4 parts, we have included the music for you to review). We will not be able to bring stands on the field. Therefore, your music will need to be memorized (or find a way to use a flip folder). More details coming soon. Right now we need to get a headcount. We will plan to rehearse Saturday, August 10 and 17.
Horn Players Needed:
There are ensembles in the area in need of horn players. Review the information below. If you are available for any of these gigs, please contact us or the person listed in the post.
Atchison Community Band:
Needs two horn players, rehearsal next Monday, concert next Tuesday, June 25 at 7 PM
Rehearsal is at Atchison middle school at 7 PM and the concert will be at the Atchison Library.

Play March through Veteran’s Day
Rehearsals Monday nights from 7-8:30 PM
National Band Competition is the last full weekend in August
This year it is in Indianapolis August 23-26 ( Fri-Mon)
Cost is $194 for motel and bus fare ( cheaper if you drive or carpool)
You can play even if you choose not to go to competition.
